The A2 Belfast to Bangor dual carriageway at Holywood is currently closed in both directions due to a road traffic collision at the folk museum.

The road could remain closed for some time and motorists are advised to seek an alternative route. The PSNI said they will issue an update about the situation in due course.

The A2 Bangor Road is also closed at its junction with Ballysallagh Road affecting Belfast-bound traffic. PSNI are on scene diverting traffic onto Ballysallagh Road, Ballymoney Road and Ballygrainey Road.

Vehicle on fire on M3 off slip

Motorists are being advised of a vehicle on fire in Belfast, on the M3 off slip to Nelson Street. Lane 1 is currently obstructed and drivers are asked to slow down and approach with care.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are currently at a report of a car on fire on the M3 off-slip near York Street. NIFRS are also in attendance, the road is passable with care but delays are to be expected."

  • M1 from J8 Blaris to J6 Saintfield Road
  • M2 Hill Section into the city
  • M3 towards Nelson Street
  • A2 Sydenham Bypass from Tilysburn into the city
  • A12 Westlink towards York Street
