What does GCash MPIN mean?
The MPIN stands for Mobile Personal Identification Number. It is a 4-digit code that acts like a password before you can access your GCash account. That’s the same digit you input before you can access your account using the GCash app.
It is also used to verify your identity everytime you try to settle a payment using GCash via third-party merchants and websites.
MPIN was also used by GCash Mastercard holders to withdraw using ATMs. However, that was changed after card PINs were changed to 6-digit codes.

Where is GCash MPIN used?
As stated earlier, the GCash MPIN is used to sign in to your account using the GCash app, authenticating payments made from a third-party service or merchant, and acts as a PIN when using the GCash Mastercard on ATMs.

How to change GCash MPIN?

Step 1: Open your GCash account. On the bottom right corner, tap “Profile”.
Step 2: Tap “Settings”.
Step 3: Tap “Change GCash MPIN”.
Step 4: Key in your current MPIN to confirm your identity.
Step 5: Key in your new MPIN and type it again to verify. After clicking submit, you should see a confirmation that the change has been applied successfully.

Don’t have an internet connection but do you really need to change your MPIN quickly? You can do so by using your device’s Phone feature and dialing *143#. Make sure you are using the same phone number used on your GCash account.
Step 1: Dial *143#.
Step 2: Key the number that corresponds to “GCash”. Tap send.
Step 3: Type the number that corresponds to “Account”. Click Send.
Step 4: Type the number that corresponds to “Change Pin”. Hit send.
Step 5: Type your current MPIN. Click send.
Step 6: Set your new MPIN and verify. You shall receive a confirmation via text that the change is successful. From there, you can now use your new MPIN to log in to your GCash account.
How to retrieve forgotten GCash MPIN?
Did you forget your GCash MPIN? Don’t panic, here’s how you can retrieve it.
Step 1: Open the GCash app. On the login screen, tap the “Forgot MPIN?” button on the bottom right corner.
Step 2: Tap “Send Code”.
Step 3: Enter the 6-digit code sent to your GCash-registered mobile number. If you didn’t receive the code, click “Tap here to resend”.
Step 4: Answer the three questions to confirm that you own the GCash account.
Bear in mind that you are only given 3 attempts to answer the questions correctly. If you exceed, you have to wait 24 hours before you can try again.
Step 5: Once successful, you can now enroll your new MPIN — which should be different from your last 3 MPINs. Once done, you shall receive a confirmation that the MPIN reset was successful.
How to use fingerprint scanner and face unlock on GCash app
Did you know that you can use your smartphone’s biometrics security to sign in to your GCash app? This is ideal if you don’t want to always type your MPIN for convenience and security. Here’s how.
Step 1: On your Android or iOS device, make sure that your fingerprint scanner, face unlock, or FaceID is enabled. You can do this by going to your device’s security settings.
Step 2: Open your GCash app then tap “Profile” on the bottom right corner.
Step 3: Tap “Settings”.
Step 4: Tap “Biometrics Login”.
Step 5: Tap “Enable”.
Step 6: You will receive an OTP password. Key that in.
Step 7: Now, every time you open your GCash account, it should automatically ask for your fingerprint or facial ID. If not, you can tap the “Login with Biometrics” at the bottom.
Alternatively, you can still type your 4-digit MPIN.
